My 10D just arrived and i havent' yet loaded software nor read anything where adding the new software will conflict with current D30 S/W on my machine. Nor have i read where its necessary to add new drivers should i decide to keep current S/W as my sole interface. BOTTOM LINE: i just want to know if anyone has been down this path ahead of me and has experienced software conflicts when maintaining both versions of S/W on one computer. Incidently, i've taken less than 30 shots but from what i can tell, panning about the family room, is 10D's ability to focus in low light is light-years ahead of the D30 & the mechanicals seem to operate better. Generally, its a much more mature piece of H/W (and $2K less than what the D30 cost 3.5yrs ago). NICE EVOLUTION CANON!

Oh yeah, i will be adding a Canon S500 ELPH to my litter soon and if anyone has esperienced problems with multiple cameras hanging off one machine please give me a yell. thanks!

I installed the software I got with my 10D over that what was on my computer from my G3, and it worked without any problems. The File Viewer Utility on my computer now works with G3 RAW files as wel as 10D RAW files.

I did similar with a D30 and an Ixus - installed the newest one last and all was well

You may want to uninstall all Canon software first:

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add Remove Programs -> then choose all the Canon programs, including Powerstitch, ZoomBrowser, etc.

Then install the new Canon software. That way, you can avoid those weird problem people write about on this site.
