These are some shots I played around with in Photoshop. I think they are pretty good for a first time. Let me know what you think or how I could make them better. Thanks!

Love them both. The selective colors are muted enough to not be overpowering. Nicely done. Good composition also.

Great! Thanks so much. Was starting to think that somethign was really wrong with them when nobody was saying anything! I'm glad they are ok. Going to make an 8X10 for my mother or a collage. There are abotu 3 other shots like this. These are the best ones.

don't worry- people lurk, and don't post for a while. Some posts wil only get a few responses, also. If it's really bad, I think the forum would tell you.

The selective colours works well, though if I had the skill to do such a thing I woulda given ole pusskins some colour too in the first one, as he / she is as much as a primary subject as the cute kid for me. IMHO, but then again I like cats. :)

The colors and the images are nicely done! I'm sure they'll be great up on the wall.

Very cute compositions. I think they'd be much better all black and white with a bump in contrast.

In the second, it's way to obvious you colored the apple. It just looks waay too fake.

I like it and have been experimenting with the same sort of techniques. did you use the history brush? If not, and I'm pretty sure you didn't on the apple, maybe some whitening of the bite marks and missing skin areas on the apple would have made it more realistic. Keep up the great work.

very cute shots. IMO,I would darken the overalls a bit in the first one. they are a little bright compared to the 2nd shot-looks almost fake. and bump up the contrast a nitch!
Try it out using the history brush and see what happens =)
GREAT WORK !!!!

I like #2 better...the overalls in #1 lean towards purple on my screen...but in #2 they're just right. Do you by chance have these in full color to post? I know this is a popular effect but I still like either full color or total b/w. Nice comps on both shots though!!

I'm getting some purple, too. Very nice, though. He's a cutie!

Here are the color versions you asked for. I think they too are great. Kind of partial to them either way. That's my son.
Lowered the resolution so they could be posted on here. :)

I agree the overalls in the b/w are a bit purple. Still cute though. :D

Going to throw this out here too. It's all B&W and I bumped up the contrast a bit. CC PLEASE?

I really like the BW version!!! I played with it in ps-not messing with contrast but If you adjust the levels a hair it makes the image pop a little more- not so flat like. it just adds a little more feel to the overalls and shadows in the grass.
Great picture!

Thanks! I'll play around with it and see what I come up with. This has been a big help.
I'm hoping to start turning this into a business. I've gotten quite a bit of clients and have given them free CDs of the shoot. This has been great practice for me and people tell me I should start charging. Still unsure. lol

Great!!! That's wonderful that you have clients already! I just got a website and am so hesitant at posting it up because of putting myself in a situation where I'm not sure of yet. Eeek! Got to build up the confidence ;)
You are doing great! keep it up! We all have different styles and tastes. That's what makes us all different and great at what we do!
Good Luck and have fun with it!!
