To me, it looks like a 1D Mark II N with a NRs…Also wouldn’t you think Canon would use the 50mm f/1.2 over the f/1.4 on their new pro body… but if it is real, sign me up.

I second that
First line says - Very soon
Second - The birth of the legend
First two technical lines are quite understandable, but with third is something about the frame, but I wouldn't be able to translate it as I haven't spoken russian for 12 yrs :)
Cheers

The specs seem logical, but the photo is a bad PS job, probably based on yesterday's Erwin Puts rumor.

Really funny how nobody else in this forum picked up on it since then. Is your source prone to artistic practical jokes  ?

There are a few things about this image that indicate (to me, anyway) that this is a fake.
1. The metallic version lacks an "EOS 1D" tag. This tag is present on other metallic Canon bodies in distinct black text. I simply do not believe Canon would not brand a flagship camera.
2. The metallic version has a 1/2 inch "overhang" on the bottom right-hand side of the camera that is not present on the black version. There is no way Canon would have body differentiation on the same model number camera.
3. The metallic version has a different port than the black version. (Magnify to 500% and look on the bottom right hand side of the camera.)
4. The metallic version lacks a bracket for the strap, which is clealy evident on the black version. (Again, magnify to 500% and look at lower right on the metallic version).
5. The NRs on the black version is almost pure white at FBFAFF... none of the other white lettering on the camera is this white. (C0BFC5 is gray... not white!)
I am going to keep looking... but this is definitely fake.

Don' forget that the rumured 1D-MarkIII has a detachable grip option. This may affect the way the want to depict the metallic version, in an Ad promotion campaign.

Simply put: "There is no way Canon would have body differentiation on the same model number camera."
But I tell you what, Roli... if this is real, I will buy you a 1D series of your choice.
If this camera is not real, you buy me the 1D series of my choice.
Care to roll the dice?

I am not disagreeing that it is fake, but on the silver body, their is no battery in it. So that accounts for #2,3, and 4 on your list.
If it is real, 12mp and 8fps!

since no one actually commented on the significance of the lettering, the original EOS 1NRS had a pellicale mirror, true 10fps. You had 2/3 stop light loss, but the mirror never moved, so no blackout during the shot.
and heres a real shot of an existign cam so you can make comparisons. the "metallic" is a unfinished/painted camera, not a new color scheme.

<grin> I know Roli... I'm just busting your walnuts. And thanks for the post Cory - I remember the image you posted, but I still think this Russian NRs image is fake.
1. There is a HUGE difference between this unfinished camera body and the shiny metal featured in that Russian image. The tint is just very different.
2. The overhang in the Russian image doesn't look right for the battery slot. Magnify it to about 500% and you will see what I mean.
3. Why would marketing materials feature an unpainted camera?
This was a fun little distraction for me... I simply see too many problems to believe that this is a real camera. I could be wrong... but...

Corey... <grin> You are most definitely right. I got really excited at first, then I started looking more closely at the image and my mind just ran away with me.
It's just a cold dreary day here in Dallas and I've got nothing else to do.
I keep thinking any day now we will get a bonafied, substantial leak and I have definitely exceeded the bounds of my patience. I was expecting a new body last August/September, but it never came.

I don't know Bill... that one in the back doesn't look like an unfinished body to me. It looks like a metallic Rebel (?) that someone tried to very carefully PS. The tint of the metal is what gives it away (to me).

I just had a thought. They shuold have a special edition version of the 1D called the Terminator Edition, with the bare metal showing instead of being painted black. Of course, it'll have the clear coating for protection.

Maybe a fake. I'm not on the defensive here. Maybe a preleminary Newspaper Ad Sketch, and as such a mix of some Artwork & a Legit PIC - who knows ?
Put aside the PIC (fake or not) - what about the features list in it ? Summing up the rumors so far - they look reasonable.

No need to feel on the defensive Roli Brother... it's all good. I still want to make that bet though! :-D
Seriously, I apologize if I (or anyone else) made you feel attacked. I was a bit over-eager initially, primarily because my first thought/hope was that the image was real, then began to have doubts. In fact, I was so eager to magnify the image and examine it in detail that I completely overlooked a few "normal" things that would have been noticeable at 100%.

Hey - no hard feeling taken at all.
Alike you, I'm eagerly awaiting for an FF, Professional grade, High fire-rate Camera myself.
I have enough reasons to believe that is not a MALICIOUSLY done PIC, and that [at least] it is some kind of an mixed [PIC + some processing] Artwork, that was done based on some Info gotten form Canon. It may as well be that it has been done [October/November 2006 timeframe] on an EARLY mockup.
Don't take it too seriously though... :)

Hey OP, no reason to feel attacked. This is a rumor forum, you posted what you heard and received, all is good guy. I'm glad you posted it, speculation seems to bring us all together for some brainstorming, and that is also good. We'll just have to weed through good stuff, bad stuff, etc. I, for one, think your original post is a welcome here. Even if fake, and it is, at least the pic is, we tie together rumors and are boiling down the possibilities. :) Don't feel if we attack the pic, it is an attack on you or your post guy, you done good.

No worries. I was in such a rush to examine the image that I magnified it and started picking it apart a little too quickly and a few of my points were off... BUT
The metallic version in that image is not an unfinished camera. Look at the difference between the metal tinting in it and Corey's... then go look at the metallic Rebels.
Fake Image.

Not to dispute that the OP's images are fake photoshops. But I will bet that Canon would not dare release a 1Dxxx model in silver like the 300D. Also, I DO believe it's the unfinished body because Canon would not dare release a camera with a Metallic Canon logo.. it would be Black like the 300D's or White like the 1d series.
