WOW the dump is on! Not for me I am keeping my 2 10D’s and one D60 and am proud of it. The thing of it is, I just do not need the performance of the 1D MK II . I do not need a Digital SLR body that has so may seals in can with stand a nuclear blast. I do not need the 8.5 FPS speed as I do weddings and not NASCAR events. The buffer is nice but once again I do not need that large of a buffer. What I need is a camera like the Canon film body EOS 3 in a Digital form. Fast A/F good buffer like 20 Jepeg and 10 RAW and a Larger Pixel count than the current 10D and the A/F performance of the 1D that and a 1.3X factor as we have now had 3 with the 1.6x this is getting old and annoying that’s it No more and no less. I have gone form the D30 to the disappointing D60  to the now 10D  and I am gona wait a bit longer before I upgrade to the next digital SLR. Canon it trying to market this camera to wedding photographers why I am not sure. Any one remembers this type of performance with there MED format body’s? No I don’t think so. And we still made a living with the slow old cameras WOW. It is not how fast the camera is it is the speed and know how of the photographer who makes photographs. Best of luck to all on the 10D dump. But I am gona sit this one out and wait a bit longer.

I've really been struggling with this one. I'm certainly not shedding the 10D. I do like the specs for the mk II. The thing is, from what I have seen so far, the 1Ds is still the cream of the crop for studio/wedding work. The output/detail is simply astonishing. What's tough for me is my time is split almost in half with studio shots vs. everything else (I don't shoot weddings - don't want any part of that pressure). Different tools for different tasks I suppose. Different price range as well. I do like the 1.3 crop for vignette protection (I've seen several reverences to the 1Ds and vignetting). I also really like the specs of the ETTL-II, but how the algorithms actually work in everyday practice remains to be seen.

I might be waiting for the replacement to the 1Ds to arrive so I can pick up the old model at a more reasonable price. However, it's really tough not to pull the trigger on the 1DmkII because it does seem to be the perfect combination of picture quality and raw horse power. I'll wait until the first shipments hit the streets and see how the reviews and shots flow from there. I'm definately moving beyond the 10D, just haven't decided which direction to go yet.

I do wedding photography and is using 10D currently. But if I got enough jobs on hand to justify the cost I have NO DOUBT that I would use 1Ds or 1D Mk II. 1.6X mag is just too limited sometimes. And also 6.3 MP just doesn't give me much room for cropping.

If i had the cash i sure as heck would be getting it...

I cant think of when having the option of more pixles larger buffer and faster fps would be a bad thing.

That is...IF i had the money
