I'm in the market for one of these two teleconverter lenses, does anyone here have an opinion on either? I've seen the comparison shots on the Lensmate website, but they look about the same to me. Other than the fact that the Sony one is a little more powerful (1.7x vs. 1.5x) I don't know if there is really any difference between the two. I do like that the Sony one has a little bit of a hood built into the end of it though, since neither one is threaded on the front for adding an aftermarket hood (or filters). I forgot to mention that I have the S3 IS. (I tried changing the topic title but it isn't showing up that way in the forum)

I realized after I read your post and then rechecked Lensmate that you're right. I got confused thinking of the Sony lens, that someone reccomended to me, and one of the other lenses they have samples of there. Anyway, in regards to the Sony lens, a friend of mine reccomended it as being better than the Canon one, but that's just his opinion. I'd tend to lean toward keeping everything the same brand since they're all designed to work together (I would hope).

Thanks for the links (though I had to sign up for ANOTHER forum before I could view them, LOL). After reading those, and viewing the pics, I am leaning more toward the Sony now, but I'll have to do a little more research...
