I have take several photos of people all under the same situation. Using E-TTL flash on a stroboframe with my 10D. Several of the pictures are dark in file viewer, while others are oK, but they all looked fine on the preview. What could be the problem.. . I did find the the CTRL + Shift + L in PS CS fixes the problem and the photos look fine. Why aren't the pics more consistent?

Are you new to Canon ETTL flash system? If so, please read http://photonotes.org/articles/eos-flash/ first.

And don't trust the LCD preview. You'd better check the exposure by viewing the histogram.

Many people have similiar complaints that Canon's ETTL is inconsistent and use Manual on their 550EX's. Canon has changed the ETTL on the new 1DMarkII to supposedly make it more reliable.
As stated above, the LCD is not a reliable indicator of exposure. Set your review up to show the histogram after each shot.
