I currently have a 30D, 800IS and am now looking to add another cheaper one as a backup/toy.

I have some thoughts and opinions on which direction I should go ...

But am certainly wanting some of your thoughts!

What, aside from "cheaper" are you looking for in the backup? Does it need to be the same size as, or smaller than, your SD800? Do you want commonality of functions and components (batteries, aux. lenses, etc.)?

The A460's about the cheapest Canon PowerShot in current production. It runs around $140 at B&H.
