Here is a pic I took while my friend was visiting with her family .I think its pretty of her, the other is of her Hubby and son ~

the first one is quite a bit soft. maybe too slow of shutter speed or just misfocused or cropped alot? also might try and be more aware of the background because the big lamp is growing out the side of her head.

i like the expressions in all pictures though which is probably what you were going for and what really counts anyway.

The first seems OOF but the second seem pretty dead on!
