I think it was not yet announced here, our Spanish DSRL Magazine on line, published several articles from Valentín Sama dated since today about the new rumors announcement of all brands.

He states that on Feb 22th should be the official presentation date for Canon.

A beast from Canon is coming with 22 Mp, possible big high quality screen built in for editing, small body than 1 Series, great fire speed (people speaks about 10 fps !!), etc... To be presented in a possible safari to be held on Kenya, spring 2007.

I think people are getting a little too worried about this new mount.

Even IF it is real, it would work similarly as EF-S. I am absolutely certain Canon would not introduce a flagship camera that would not work with the current lenses. My guess is that the new body MIGHT contain a few extra contact points that would simply be ignored by the EF lens line but would work with the rumored EF-x line.

I'm suspicious of a new mount at all though..

It seems to me after reading the translation that the possible mount change is for Nikon or am I missing something as usual! :)

Cool! I never figured the 22 MP for 10 fps, or even 6 fps, as that would be in the Sports model...? If true, what would the Mark II N be....? New mount certainly couldn't make it so the EF lenses couldn't be used. Like... hey, look at this great pro camera, sorry we have no lenses, or one or two new lenses that work with it. That would be a killer, who wold buy it if they couldn't use it out of the gate? I agree, new mount might be there, but wold have to still be compatible with the EF lenses, and as time passes, new mount lenses become available, maybe to take advantage of some kind of new focusing system or something....? I like that we have a target date now, Feb. 22nd for the announcements, and from other rumors, seems like things are beginning to firm up. :)
