On the first look at this image I thought maybe the colours were a little undersaturated... but looking further at it this looks like a 'farmhouse cookery recipe book' sort of picture, if you get what I mean!
The colours are actually suited to the shadows.
This isn't the sort of composition I would usually associate with fruit but in this case it does work well

It would have possibly been better if you had positioned the camera a little lower as the plate/bowl, to me seems as if its sliding out of the picture. I feel that the composition would also have benefited from posibly being left-hand heavy with the fruit rather than right-hand heavy.
Also, when shooting such a subject you normally choose less damaged fruit as you want to excite the taste buds of the viewer.
