I like the first one, you handled the tricky lighting well. Beautiful town.

Something about the second shot I find striking great photo but I don't know why?

Cheers guys! Sorry about the 900 wide size images. Had sized 'em up for another forum and forgot to change them.

I like the second one. I think it is the lines from the steps.

Thanks very much hijinks! It was the lines of the stairs that attracted me to the shot. The open door also seemed inviting. I had tried on several occasions to capture this scene, but never got it close to right. Usually the light was crap when we were in Tavi and this location is often shaded as it's in a large square with a market building in the middle. This time, the light was a bit better. :D

Great shots Bruce, I love Tavi. My dad lives in Berre Ferres down the road

Thanks JuSlaughter! My wife is originally from Tavi. It is a great town. We live outside of Launceston, but go there every chance we get. I"m actually a yank, lol, but living in the UK permanently now :D
Cheers,
Bruce

Both of these are quite interesting, could both also do with levelling though.

Thanks Adam! I've just finished a different version of the first one in which there's no person in the frame and I "exposed" it (paper exposure in Convert to B&W Pro) a bit more. This one is what I really set out to shoot yesterday.
