Hi. I haven't done much still life photography before so c&c will be welcomed. This was done in response to a key line photography brief for my hnd course.

Hmm. The juicer (at least I think its a juicer) has me thinking war of the worlds. Reminiscent of some sort of alien spacecraft sent down here to conquer.
That or I have a very active imagination....

Very cool juicer!
I think instead of offering support to the orange, I would like to see the right hand leg of the juicer piercing it.
As it is, something seems a bit off with the light - the orange is extremely well lit in the same plane that the juicer begins to be rather shady. Have you done some PS adjustments? Also, there is a pink refleciton in the left side of the juicer's "head".

i like the idea of the juicer piercing the orange -very war of the worlds!!! only post processing done was to use selective colour to darken the black by +3 or 4. softbox was used to side light the composition. I also used a 5x4 camera and the orange has the same lighting from the prints I took of it. I cant see pink on my screen in the head more an orange tint which i just assumed was the light bouncing off the orange.

Well, you don't have an avatar pic of yourself, but if you are caucasian it's likely you that is making the pink/orangish cast in the juicer. This has happened to me with reflective objects. ;)

It's not distracting, though!
