Hey, I went to the 4 hours of Zandvoort last sunday, I took some pictures with the 70-200L F4, at first I had a 70-300 IS USM and this was my first test with the new one!
Please give me some feedback, I want to know what you think!

Ok, here's some C&C...
1. Nice. Probably my favourite of the lot. Clean shot, good angle.
2. Needs a bit more space to the right - did you crop this off?
3. The back half of the car is a clean shot, but the front is a bit blurred. It's a tough shot to pull off, but in the whole it's nice. Again, I'd like to see a bit more space round the bottom and sides.
4. Nice shot. I like the hint of a reflection in the water on the ground.
5,6,7. Super shots. The only thing is that I feel like they are squeezed in again - give them a bit more space in the frame! :D
Overall a very good set. You should be very happy with them. Don't be afraid to leave a bit more space between the subject and the edge of the shot though.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks a lot for your comments, I did crop #2, as mentioned. Yess, I am very happy with them, I only put my shutterspeeds up to 1/100 - 1/125 the next time to make the whole car sharp. And I will try to leave more space between the subject and the edge of the shot, something that is difficult for me cause I like it the way it is now!

In which case leave it the way it is... unless someone is paying you to take the shots, of course, in which case shoot it the way they like it ;)

I think a couple of them show signs of a need for more careful AF point selection. #3 could get the front of the car sharp using a left of frame AF point and #5 the same but using the bottom AF point. The front of the car is what people look at first and it makes the image a lot more successful if it's sharp.

What did the 70-300 IS USM perform like?
Where any of the above images taken with that lens!
Thanks

The 70-300 IS USM did perform well, altough after a while I found out that the IS was not better, after I switched it off I got sharper pictures. This is only with motorsports, I didn`t like it with that. And I come very often at Zandvoort, it says it all, lots of sand that will come eventually in the push-pull system of the 70-300.
A few months ago the price of the 70-200 F4 was almost the same as the 70-300, that`s why I switched. But you can get very sharp pictures with it, no doubt!
Take a look at "my website" (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v367/speedypictures/), the galleries DTM 2006, Finaleraces 2006 and Zandvoort 500 were taken with the 70-300 IS USM.
