I got my D30 today. I love when ebay sellers give more than they include in the items details. This seller did not mention that a 128mb CF card will come with it nor did they mention a brand new camera bag. Anyway I have to be leaving for work in a little bit, plus it has been raining on and off today, but I can't wait to really get to play with it. So far I like the feeling of the camera and the way the controls are setup. My D Rebel did not feel this good when I first got it. After I got the battery grip I felt differnt about it. Anyway I can tell right off the bat that this camera was aimed at a different crowd than the D Rebel. It has a more solid feel, easier controls, flash compensation and the use of partial metering throughout the shooting modes. Don't get me wrong, there are some serrious upgrades that the Rebel has over the D30. Like 7 point focus as opposed to three, 6.3mp censor vs. 3.2mp, less noise at higher ISO speeds and better focus in low light. The D30's Al Servo mode is great, with the D Rebel you have to shoot in sports mode...Dean

Congratulations on your "new" D30. :D

My guess is you will love it, except in low light without a flash. I have no trouble with that, as, if there is low light, I use a flash.

It may only have 3.2 MP, but those pixels are each larger than any others except for the 1Ds pixels. I also have a D60, but I mostly use the D30.

Thanks Dave, I went out and took a few test shots and so far I am impressed. I did try some photos indoors to see if I will have troubles and it di have some problems focusing. I will probably play more with the D30 than the D Rebel as I like the feel of the D30 a lot better...Dean

Exposure and mediocre autofocus are the only things to watch out for on that body.

Check your histogram often.
