Here's the conclusion of my session with Kelli. We ended with a high key Jeans shoot for parishrformel.com.

Thank you. It was a cloth backdrop and I used a large clear piece of plexiglass under the model. Works wonders.

these are really great! i wish they were a notch bigger so we could see everything better, but your lighting is superb!

Great job! How big is the plexiglass? I'd like to invest in a sheet, but am limited on funds....so i want to get a size SMALL enough to afford, but BIG enough to work. I guess i should consider anyone "laying down" on it too??? hmmm

Nice shots and great lighting. She looks at home in front of the camera.

It was pretty cheap actually. I found it at Home Depot. 3x4 feet or so.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll make the pictures a bit larger.

I think these are good and well done with the plexi and reflections - IMHO these sort of details can really make shots like this great

Yeah, I have been looking at this to go with my paper background and I actually found that a sheet big enough for 'laying down' on or similar would be pretty heavy. I ended up ordering 2 x smaller sheets to butt up together. Haven't tried any pics yet but I guess there will be a little 'seam' to PS out.

It works out really well. For a shot laying down, this size can still be used for a lot of things, just not full body.

Skweekie:

How big and of what color plexiglass were you looking for? I found a source in Orange, CA for some small colored plexi for use as a base for some jewelry pictures I was taking. In the "cut bin" it was $1 per pound. They also sell full sheet (4'x8' I believe), but I'm not sure of the cost. PM me if you are interested. Also, I've only seen clear plexiglass at home depot...maybe other stores have different stock.

Very nice shots! As a beginner with studio lighting, it's always nice to see ideas well executed.

Colored plexi would come in very handy for commercial products and jewelery.

Thanks for the comments.
