Why's that? Keep the 35L on the 5D and the 50 on the 7D. then you'll have a 35/80 combo.
Exactly
...and, eachof the cameras will render the images a little differently.

Because if I want 35 I put it on the 5d, if I want something closer to 50 I put it on the 7d

Walex - nice shots - I can tell that you draw some inspiration from Markus Schwarze's stranger shots. However, I would try to stop down a couple so you can get the entire facial features in focus...either that or distance yourself a bit and crop. It'll help to get the nose, eyes and lips in focus. There were a couple photos in the past that you posted that had perfect DOF. :)
Anyway, keep it up! I'd like to start a similar project myself pretty soon here.

You're welcome Geno. The thing I really like about doing this is there is no unwanted light spillage on the subject. I actually started doing this quite by accident years ago when i was shooting film and didn't have the room to use lights with barn doors bringing them in from the front because of how wide the group was so I made a very fast decision to try it from the back. Did a polaroid it look ok so I tried it with film and it worked. Heres the shot that started me using this method.

Neat quick fix that a pro told me about - throw a towel over the lens and control it from under the towel.
Some people wrap a piece of plastic around the lens which not only makes the hand wet but also makes controlling it much more difficult (and slippery).
Once the towel gets damp, wring out the water and reuse. Or use a fresh towel. Of course with snow, unlike rain, it will take a while for the towel to get really damp.

Why not just gaffer tape the entire lens up with one layer, then add a water-tight layer of some other tape around it?

Kathryn Model ~ The Fashion SnowBoarder
haven't had much time this winter for personal work, so recently i had to do a project shot.
Kathryn, Mother and i were talking about her wedding photos, so after we talked about a fun project.
it started out as a sledding photo, but as it turned out we picked a snowboard shot..
lighting was 3 lights
1. Speed light 580EXII triggered by the New Cactus V5's Camera Left 1/4 power
2. Speed light 580EXII triggered by the New Cactus V5's Camera Right 1/2 power
3. AB1600 with 60 inch Softlighter triggered by the new Cactus V5's 1/2 power about 5 feet camera left from Kathryn
the weather was about 19 F outside, so Kathryn was really a trooper with this shoot..
her mother and father also was helping out.. it takes a good team to get results like this. Coat holding, flashlight holder, etc.

Or you could just stop treating your DSLRs like delicate flowers and go out in the snow and shoot. I mean, you shouldn't intentionally try to destroy your camera, but they can take a little snow!!

Yeah, but not as bad as it was before Christmas. :) I was surprised to find it frozen like that. Today I heard that the larger marina has frozen too with all the sailboats, which doesn't happen very often since it's part of the fjord (salty Atlantic Sea water). I really need to go there soon with the camera.

I am in Belize and then going on to Honduras. I brought the 7E with me, it's been a blast. Makes me remember to be careful with my settings and to try and get a good shot, since there is no "spray and pray" with film.
Enjoy!

Great pictures everyone!!
I just ordered my first "L" lens a 35mm 1.4L to go on my T1i.
I hope I can get pictures to come out somewhat as close to the quality you all are doing with my crop job. (please say I can :), everyone says the glass is more important than the body, and its the person behind the camera).
Well I feel I have 2 out of the 3, just don't have a FF.
Hey it's a start....
