Just ordered one. Was going to replace my Sigma 50 with the 50L, but figured that since I've sunk that money (and had it calibrated and gone through that whole mess for a decent copy) that I'd finally add the 35. Now, I'm curious if this will completely supplant my 17-40...I don't do much landscape, per se, but that lens is quite wide and nice to have. Heading on vacation week after next; I have a feeling this is going to be glued to my camera.

I have photo below using my new 35L, I just want to know how to use AV (or TV) setting when shooting outdoor with 35L & T1i. Newbie here, still learning my new 35L.

Also, If you will shoot photo # 3, what setting you will change for improvement? I'm using 35L with T1i.

have a question for you, are you using just natural light or some lighting setup ? I miss built in flash on my 5d a lot. Used it as a fill flash on my 40d that i had before. And speedlight is just too heavy to carry on the camera all of the time.

Thanks! :) Well, she is a fashiondesigner, so style is very important to her.

When it comes to lighting, I always use natural light as main light source. But I do have a speedlite that i use for fillflash (at very low power setting). I only use high power setting if I can bounce the flash against a wall or ceiling.

Thanks for explaining. Guess i'll need to pick a small flash for a fill, tired of fighting those harsh shadows without it.

I'm kind of slow to warm up to something different. 35mm was WAY different for me coming from sports shooting as a main interest. Really digging the IQ and versatility of the 35L. Great lens. Glad I kept it on long enough to see the light.

Difference between with and without MRC? I noticed on amazon, the price difference is like 40 bucks. I wouldn't mind forking out the $40 if it produces better pictures :D

Thanks. Oh yeah I really love that place. Me and my GF like to rent a boat and go there when we want to be 100% solo. The islands outside the coast of Krabi are amazing!

I love the smell of a new lens in the morning.

The street is usually devoid of cars. I tried to hide one behind the head. Another I hide behind the left bush. The narrow DOF helped. Then a little bit of pixel dust, and voila. Ce magnifique.

My 35L has been packed up and sent back to the retailer. After drooling over this thread for ~3 years I finally pulled the trigger on a refurb only to receive a copy with very poor performance on both of my bodies. Nate, the groom from yesterday's wedding was pretty much shot by the time this was taken haha but he was a sport. This was walking around during the reception as everyone was eating. They wanted to see if there were any spots around Cannon Beach to shoot at and luckily we found this spot.
