Well there is none, as I've searched. This isn't just to help me decide on this lens or not, it's for the archive, as it doesn't seem to have a 35L listed. So 35L owners, post em up!

Wow page 3 already. You know, for people who praise this lens, noone sure wants to show it! I just got mine, I'll be posting either tomorrow or the beginning of next week, once I get used to this bad boy. Come on people! Don't make me send you to your room!

I got the 35L a month or so ago to shoot on the baseline for hoops. A nice wide perspective compared to shooting with the 135 f2. Fast focusing and nice shots so far. Haven't used it as much lately, but hope to change that soon :)

Excuse all the cat shots... But all the fur makes for a great demonstration of the sharpness of this AWESOME lens. It's stupid-sharp. For a crop camera, it's THE "standard 50mm" to have. Click for larger/more info:

These two shots were just goofs... The first being a test of the new 580EX, the second a test of the new umbrella. But it shows nice sharpness and the "macro" ability of the lens due to its close-focusing distance:

Postman just delivered my new 35L. I need some sleep (working graveyard shift to afford this lens) so I don't have time for any proper photos right now - just a quick snapshot of the box with a Lightroom preset added. More to come.

Thanks. I'm finding this lens a lot harder to learn than the 135/2. Since the latter is such a long lense, almost anything you shoot will be isolated. The 35L seems to be better at isolating but not completely knocking out a background.
The absolute best thing about both lenses is how quick and accurate the focus is. It's seriously amazing.

Tell me about it... I bought it brand new because I couldn't find a used one. I am extremely happy about purchasing it though :)
I just did the same thing, but only because I couldn't find a GOOD used one. I won't settle for these "it's not very sharp at 1.4" copies. Mine was as sharp at 1.4 as my 24-70 was at f/4. That's damn sharp.

the 35L is pretty amazing. very sharp wide open. the only difficult part is that the DoF is so thin more care is required to get the focal plane lined up as desired.

Here's one from Lao, dancing figures on a garden shrine, these were everywhere.
No image editing done. How do you get the time if it's not your full time job?? I have the choice in my free time - go and take more pics, or make my current ones more beautiful. The 2nd never happens...
Love this lens, but still getting used to the focal length. I'm used to a film 28mm or 90mm.

Well the aperture advantage should be pretty obvious, and it's hella-sharp. I don't know about panaromic shots (I'm assuming you wouldn't be shooting pano's at f/1.4), but as indoor ambient/low light stuff goes, I can't image there is anything much more ideal than the 35L.

Its shaprper and faster. As sharp as some wide open when the zooms are stopped down and after 2 its allot sharper than zooms.

Nice Ryan, Looks like the only other lens you might consider is the 24 1.4L. You don't really need more.
Everything I shoot I shoot with a 24 1.4L, 35 1.4L and 85 1.2L. I found these to be the focal lengts I use most so I focused on getting the best glass I could at those lengths.
Really nice images. I bet the B&G were thrilled

thanks airfrog ... I am really considering the 24L. But I'm having a devil of a time choosing between the 24L and 45 TS-E. The 24L is more practical and probably more useful for me, but the tilt-shift opens up some new creative avenues.
Also, the new 200 f/2 IS is singing its siren song :). I always like your 24L shots, and I've used it some, and really liked it a lot.
