View Full Version : FedEx is Terrible!

I have a package coming via FedEx, I paid for 2 day shipping and I am on day 5 now.
Each morning I check the tracking online and I see the package is "on the truck and scheduled for delivery" and each night I see the package is back in the warehouse.

This is unbelievable, I will never use FedEx again. Brown truck for me from now on. Calls to FedEx get me no satisfaction, just a "sorry for the delay".
I have already made a call to get my money back for the shipping.

Well, your weather may have something to do with that, but 5 days is pushing it.

it seems to me FedEx is high on their prices, UPS seems to loose alot (from others Ive heard), and USPS is slower than a junebug stuck in molasis, pretty thick molasis too. Luckily I havent had any problems with fedex (had one delivery of photo gear) and UPS has been solid so far (still hoping they dont lose anything of mine) and USPS has appearantly lost a package I sent to a friend in Australia.
Sorry to hear about your ordeal

If you ship USPS PRIORITY MAIL, you will be happy.. I have always been, 2-3 days at most for me from PA to Cali.

Same here although I didn't actually pay for it. Canon Factory Service used FedEx 2Day to return my Speedlite. It was initially to deliver yesterday but no-go - with the website saying basically Delayed Due To Weather, in not so many words. Then it was to deliver today. No-go again. What sucks is I have to sign for it so I have to wait and watch for the truck (they never knock) to avoid this "sorry we missed you" door tag jazz. Otherwise I wouldn't care so much.

So FedEx is delayed due to weather, but the UPS guy drives by and the mail is still delivered...

I bought 4GB CF card from Costco.com It was shipped UPS from northern California. After being "Out for delivery" for a week I gave them a call. They had lost it but no one would admit it. They just kept marking it out for delivery in the morning and returned at night but no one had actually ever seen it. Costco sent me another one , got here over night.

Looks slightly familiar. Just yesterday it never made it out of Dulles VA but today the same delay you got several times. The irony is that if Canon had chosen FedEx Ground, it would have taken a different route, gotten here the next day - before the snow even hit us. FedEx 2Day goes from Jamesburg NJ to Maspeth NY (where B&H warehouse is) to Newark NJ to Dulles VA and then Hagerstown MD where it goes out for delivery to me. FedEx Ground goes from Jamesburg NJ to Middletown PA (just north of me) to Hagerstown MD (just south of me) out for delivery to me. So FedEx Ground is actually more direct!

...UPS seems to loose alot (from others Ive heard),

Well I have seen on two occasions this year a UPS delivery truck driving around with the back door open swinging and banging as he rounded corners. The driver was totally oblivious to the situation. There is no wonder why UPS loses stuff. I used to ship products with them all the time but after a couple were lost....hello Purolator / DHL so far not bad but it all comes down to people, "STUPID PEOPLE" which there is plenty of in this world.

Fedex trucks are white. The drivers keep loosing their trucks in the snow. Not a problem for Brown. ;)

I had troubles with FedEx recently during the holidays with the 'Delivery Exception' bit. I live in a gated apartment complex, so on 3 delivery days I got the Delivery Exception in my online tracking. What it really all bolied down to was that...truely...the FedEx driver for this area was just plain LAZY and did not bother trying to enter the complex or dial me from the call box. When the items finally got delivered, I found out why he was lazy, he was nearly 375 lbs easy and I live on the second floor with 3 flights of stairs.

I had bad experience with Fedex. UPS is the way to go.
Why?
They left a 600 US dollars of goods just outside the door although I already put a note that states if nobody at home, please give it to leasing office.
The package requires a signature and when I called and checked who sign the form they said it's Bobby. The thing is nobody name Bobby in my house or my neighbour or the guys in leasing office. They made it up..

I'd be calling and bitching. It's one thing to be delayed a day and not make it out of a certain warehouse and it's another to be put on a final route truck and not delivered when other companies continue to deliver.

Hmmm that's not good. Call the shipper (ie company/person/whatever) you bought it from, explain your situation and tell them you paid for overnight and still don't have it, and ask them to bitch since THEY'RE the actual customers of FedEx. Since technically they're ripping off the place you bought the item from...ie they paid for the overnight (you actually simply reimbursed them for it). If they're worth their salt as a seller they'll get on the phone and start complaining.

I had the same problem with UPS. They finally had to admit that they had lost it. In fact no one had ever seen it, eyes on, just the electronic tracking as to where it was supposed to be. It was supposed to be on the truck. When the driver got to the end of the run and no item he just recycled the info. I have a good friend that just retired from UPS. He said that does happen. Nobody wants to take responsibility.
Bottom line, someone stole it.

I just filed a complaint with the BBB, hopefully this will get them on the stick.

Never had a problem receiving packages from either company. I have had a few battered boxes, but that is about it. Only time I have ever had a shipping problems was with UPS. Shipped some very expensive rims to a buyer in 2 separate crates. They some how managed to drop a crate. 1 of the rims came out and got some pretty bad scratches on the chrome face. Buyer was pissed, but I got it sorted out and everyone was happy.

I'd never had a problem until this week. Bought a lens from a chap on FM and he shipped it UPS. Looked good and was scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday. All of a sudden the delivery date disappeared and so did the package. Now the tracking just shows "EXCEPTION".

The seller has been very good though and has requested UPS do a trace on the package, but I wanted the lens for an overseas trip next week. Looks like I will be going without it :(
