I am using a laptop computer via a wifi to print on a epson R2400. The printer is hard wired to the desktop computer; when I go to print via the wifi, the information will transfer to the printer queue but will register as a error and not print! If I plug the printer directly into the laptop via the USB connector, the printer will print but my life will be a lot nicer if I can use the wifi for the connection. Any help will be appreciated.

I do not know the specific answer to your question, but my suspicion leads me to believe it may be a bi-directionality issue. The R2400 is bidirectional; i.e. the printer talks back to the pc it is hardwired to (reports ink levels, print status, etc.).

I recently wanted to put my 2400 in another room with a wireless print server, but found out that although it would work, in doing so I would lose the bi-directionality. If you have some way of configuring the printer with bidirectionality turned off, try that. /Dan

What is the error exactly? I like the firewire connection and use it from my Powerbook. I sometimes get error messages but it usually has to do with the Black cartridge not matching the type specified by the profile. It might be possible to track down the error number.
