I'm thinking of putting my tax return to good use in the form of this awsome printer...

**EDIT**

just saw a release date of may, so i guess no one does have it.

Still something to discuss.

$200 for a printer that can only get me 8x10 prints (9600) just feels like a waste of cash, but $500 for a printer when including ink costs seems like alot too.

13x19 prints whenever i wanted would be awsome, but i have to wonder how much that costs a guy in ink.

Now, how could we possibly have one when right there on the site from the link you gave us it distinctly reads "available in may".

I will be getting one of these for sure.

Nope,. but I got my i9100 like a week before they announced that one :(

Anyway,. I love the 9100! (same size prints.. like the difference between the 950 and 960,. just larger! )

well i'm sure it'll change however as of right now the two are the same price and the 9900 has twice the nozzles...how big of a difference would that make...as well as the added colors.

I wonder if the ink is archival quality?

I spoke with a canon Rep @ the WPPI & asked her why should I get the 9100 over the Epson 2200 & I was told that they own both.
Better color on the canon & great prints for proof sheets or photos that was going to be framed & sheilded from the envioroment.

The 2200 was over all better for unprotected archival work if used with Epson Paper. It looks & sounds like a great printer but I'll wait on the reviews.

I just had 2 ea 11X14 prints made at a local photo lab.. $36. I think you can print one for a bit less if you already had the printer and didn't figure its cost in :D

32 prints pays for the printer

Considering when i'm thinking of print cost i dont consider the inital cost a part of that...more then 'nuff said.

WHen i first heard about this printer i thought "no way would i pay this for that" and now i cant wait until i get it (i think).

That seems to be the way alot of my photography equipment is going. I just wana get my lenses and all the extra supplies and just go take pictures...*sigh*

I've got the i9100 and like CDS bought it not too long before the i9900 was announced. I'm very happy with it though. The prints are outstanding. With $70+ of ink in it at any one time, I just don't think I could justify two more ink tanks. The prints are just so good already. There's no buyer's remorse here. I'm a happy camper.

I'm wondering how long that ink actually lasts

We have state tax too, much like VAT. I call it the (LVAT) Lack of Value Added Tax, or the Steath Tax. Where does it go? You can't tell me as much as there is in tax, be it Road Tax, TV Tax, VAT, etc it just vanishes. I wonder what the UK can do to sort it. I have an idea, but I am not about to rock the boat on the forum. PM me if you want to know. I have no doubt I am not the only one with this idea. I will say that the OAPers that paid into the system are getting the very short end of the stick. Believe me, I know...my next door neighbours are pensioners. We have talked at length about it.
