Not sure where to post this but, I'm going out tonight and I don't have a monopod. What can I use to help get clearer shots in a very dark bar? f/1.4 and ISO 3200 will not be enough.
I'm tempted to bring the old FD camera out and crank the ISO to 6400 or 12000 just to get the shots.
Should I ditch digital for the weekend?

How about a string pod. It helps me sometime about 2-3 stops but in the 1/15 maybe 1/8 area. I tend to be an unsteady sort. I have used it when I am told no monopod by some overly enthusiatics folks. Rarely is there a rule forbidding string pods.

Thanks am_pitbull_terrier I should have found an example but am lazier than you. I prefer the two footed variety, the L of string pods. Like the one footed one but a bit bigger so you can use both feet spread out slightly. Give me a bit more of that steadiness I so desire.

There's also a bean bag (bag of lentils, rice or beans) to rest the camera on.

Wow. I was gonna suggest a broomstick and a screw but I think the stringpod is even better. Absolutely BRILLIANT!
