 I jsut sent my 10D for calibration cause of front focusing,
for the unlucky ones like me, has anyone faced an even worse senario? like having the camera back with the problem still persisting? or just partially solved?
regards

Hi. I also sent a 10D back for calibration a few month ago. It had a slight front focusing, and still had it when it came back (although not as much). I did send the lens with it, so the camera/lens system would be calibrated as one.

I think that this problem is a characteistic of the 10D, despite all what canon or other people can say. In my case it is not so bad, meaning that the area covered by the sqaure is most of the time in focus. Although in some cases the focused area is really on the DOF limit.

Most of the time, when i stop down above 5.6 at 24mm and as close as i can get from the subject with a 24-85, this problem almost never occurs, so i can live with it. Although i am waiting for a 50mm f1.4, and i am afraid that i might have to really solve the problem (if it can be solved) rather than living with it.

anyway, that is my experience. I think people got fed up to talk about that (few months ago there were at least one thread a day on the subject). But i understand your feeling!! :) it is quite frustrating to know that something "dooesnT work" on our pressssioussss

good luck

Dan
