I would like to know how it makes you feel.

Art or Photo?

It is Called "Giving Thanks"

It makes me feel sad, or somehow sorry for the bird, because it looks like it's in pain.

The photo itself is pretty noisy...

I like the image but there seems to be a lot of large noise in the sky - kinda looks like it was blurred but not enough. There also seems to be a bit of noise in the eagle as well, but it looks like normal noise.

I love the title ...

Thank You, I've cleaned it up some.

Pain? Because you have not seen them in this position?

Will do. Here it is:

The original is a nice picture - cleaning up the noise did a lot to improve it. It does evoke emotion and I feel sadness as well.

Beau - your edit is beautiful. I feel the only thing that would add to this edit is an opaque, partial-image of the Veteran's wall. That would essentially, show why the eagle has his head bowed - not only in mourning, but also for respect.

Or for that matter, any memorial added to this would display that.

But as is, it's gorgeous. A beautiful shot of an eagle with a very appropriate background.

Beau , HTR, I am moved, and humbled by your efforts. This is something touching, its almost like you both were thinking along the same lines when you independently shot your pictures. I have gained a lot of respect for others work and images on the net since I started shooting myself. Consequently, I feel I should ask permission in order to use it as a desktop image, I would be honored and privileged to display it and want some suggestions from both or either of you as to how to display the appropriate credit to you both. Maybe one of you can add watermarks from both of you to the last image Beau created. Gentlemen Even if this is not acceptable I want to thank both of you publicly for your work, creativity and ingenuity.

In my opinion, if you want to use it on your desktop, who am I to muck it up with a watermark. I will place one on if you so desire, but we will have to have HTR chime in with his opinion.

As for your comments: I am truly touched that I was, in some way, able to solicit such a wonderful feeling and statement from you by doing nothing more then what I enjoy - photography and photoshop. Thank you ever so much Sir!

You are completly welcome to use it for your own personal use and I'm honored that you feel so strongly. I would say Let Beau add any watermark as his ability with PS is way above mine.

thrumyeye echoes my take on your image, too. In addition to what he has expressed, I also like the original as well as the edits. Describing the emotion that your image evokes from me would probably transform this thread into something political, so I wont make the attempt. I am a patriot.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm truely moved by your comments and want my pictures express feelings as well as photographic cabability. I believe that pictures can bring out the heart as well as the eye.

Also Thanks Beau for your passion

Thank You gentlemen. I have downloaded the new one with the watermark and I am now using it as my desktop.
I appreciate hTrs suggestion of not watermarking it but Beau did an excellent job as well he should, the credit you both deserve on this piece needed to be acknowledged. It is a patriotic statement, and it is a highly emotional piece. Again I stand and salute you gentlemen.
Amazing how cooperation among two fellow members only goes to show what the true spirit of these forums ought to be.

Maybe I'm different, but instead of sadness or pain, I'm reminded of when martial artists bow before beginning the fight.
