Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG HSM

this is the perfect telephoto lens IMHO if it had OS. Weather sealing would be nice too for those folks that would use this lens on 1 series body.

I wonder if Sigma will ever release a OS version of this lens. If they did it would be pretty damn awesome.... but i think the price would be outright scary! :rolleyes:

Unless i'm reading your post incorrectly, you seem to be implying that the 120-300and 7D (as used in the Helicopter image above) are waterproof. They aren't.

Thanks, I actually just go the kenko yesterday. Luckily I took the combo out for a bit of birding just this afternoon. In my unscientific low light tests last night it did hurt the auto focus quite a bit. That said, I am very pleased with the performance outside today. Outdoors in the sun the AF difference between TC on and TC off was insignificant. The IQ still seems quite good. I didn't shoot any wide open with it on. But here are a few samples with the Kenko Pro 300 1.4x:

My 120-300 (non-OS) is going, via the dealer, to Sigma for tweaking. Auto-focus at wider apertures is suffering big time, really hit or miss, about 1 out of 99 is sharp

My 120-300 has been back for two weeks , it's vastly improved. Still seems a bit soft at f/2.8 but that could be in my technique too. Its definitely got a learning curve.

I honestly don't know about those products, BUT I will say this lens is as long as an extended 100-400L and quite a bit chunkier. It would take a pretty big holster to hold it and I doubt id want this 6lb lens strapped to my belt for any length of time.

Yes, just got a Lens Changer 300 yesterday, its more to hold my lens in place in case I have to run or dash to another location as I shoot sports and it gets quite frantic sometimes.
