At the fair the other day, checking out the horses, and sevral people were out in the arena practicing. Photos only have slight color adjustment. What do you think?

Great shot and nice composition, I think that the #1 is a little be blow out in the background the rest need a white compensation in pp w/level or curve adjustment. I like #4.

Very nice and sharp! Good work, what lens did you use?

Hey, all nice shots, have PP-ed one a little, played with the shadow/highlights to try and remove some shadow from the riders face then increased the contrast to bring the colour back.

Looked at the EXIF data and I think a lower F number would work better next time, detach the horses from the background more, like the people in the 1st picture. All personal preference though. :)

Thank you all very much, and thanks for the advice. I used my Sigma APO DG 70-300. It took me a while to get used to that lens, because every one seems different to me, but I'm starting to really be happy with me results from it.
Nice edit Pete. I like it. I hadn't noticed how dark it was till I saw yours right next to it. I had just done some real quick PP. And you’re right about the smaller aperture. I was shooting on Shutter Priority and didn’t really think about it till I saw them on the bigger screen. Any further comments anyone?

Great shots Lisa. I thought this photo would be more intimate with a tight crop. I also used a cooling filter.

Sometimes if the background is busy and there are alot of colour distractions, I will convert to B/W. Using a blur tool for the people gives more emphasis on the rider.
