All these talk about how good 1Ds, 1D Mk II and DCS/c would be is just too much.. I mean for a guy who won't be albe to put down the dough for these camera....
So many sleepless nights thinking how much I want one of those.....
All a sudden, I just think of one point that can help me (and anyone like me) to feel better about our existing 10D/300D....
10D/300D have more effective pixels per inch on the sensor than that of 1Ds, 1DMKII and DCS/c!!!
What does that mean? That means for example if you shoot with a 300mm lets say, you would have more pixels on your subject with 10D/300D compare to using any of the high end DSLR above. Why?
10D's sensor is 22.7mmX15.1mm with 3072X2048 effective res
The FF sensor on 1Ds is 35.8mmX23.8mm with 4064X2704 effect res
But if you take 10D's sensor size and proprotionally increase to the size of 1Ds sensor while maintaining the same effective res density, you would get a sensor with 15.63 MP!!!
HA HA HA HA HA HA......I feel better now  ...HA HA HA HA

Those poor souls who think the 1Ds is any good aren't discarding the edges of the image either (we all know that's usually the least sharp). Oh well, what they don't know.....

I'll just be happy if I can afford a DRebel. :(

I'm going looking today though, so we'll see! :)

Don't even get me STARTED on custom functions.....

It is called "Pixel Density" ... albeit incorrectly, as CCD/CMOS sensors don't have ANY pixels,. they have photoreceptors which record pixles.. but that's nitpicking.

Anyway,. yes the Canon 6MP CMOS has the highest pixel density of any of the cameras listed.

If all was equal,. then that means that in a given "crop" those 6mp would yeild the highest definition..

So,. I won't spoil the fun by saying whether or not all else IS equal or not...

Don't worry too much about the better models, they'll only increase your enjoyment slightly :)

They do! I thought they recorded light levels of specific colors? ??? (Now that's nitpicking!
