I took these last fall while in the car. I'm still a newbie at the whole photography, I have found this site very helpful so far and can't wait to get my rebel XTi in a few days with my tax return:D

#1 does nothing for me really I find it boring, I think it may have been better in color, the lines running though the lower part of the shot are also distracting. #2 has a lot more going for it but lacks a little contrast and you need to straighten up your horizon. I would crop a bit of the sky out or a bit of the foreground to get it the base of the hills off center. crop off the half house on the left. then repost to show how it looks if you will.

Would look best in color.
I noticed you saved both the photos as low quality...It really ruins parts of the photos, next time try something higher.

Do you mind if I edit your second photo in Photoshop, to show you how it would look better?
