Hi everybody...I have a whole slew of these little guys picking on the tree berries in front of my house every morning. I was wondering if anybody can tell me what kind of bird they are? Finch maybe? I'm not a bird person so I have no idea - but their markings are really colorful.

This was on a cloudy morning in Virginia after a large sleet storm we had a few days ago. This was taken from indoors behind a window at 400 ISO and a 200mm zoom - so it's not the best quality. But just wanted to try out my new camera.

Tip - never buy a camera in the dead of winter if you like to take nature and landscapes. Unless you like going out in the elements and freezing, slipping and catching the flu. I'm not that desperate. ;)

Your bird is a Cedar Waxwing, I think one of the most beautiful birds in North America:) And I agree, winter photography can be brutal;)
