I have the software that came installed with my Dell, Roxio 5. I went to burn some RAW photos that I had just shot onto a CD and I guess that this will not do that, music only.
What software do you use to burn your photos to CD?

That's odd. I use Nero but use to use Roxio. I'm sure I had burned image files to disc. Check your settings and the type of file it's set to transfer to disc.

Roxio will burn photos to a disc. It would simply be a data disc rather than a music disc.

When I try to do that, it says that I need to upgrade it.... :x

Roxio will allow you to burn several types of disk,. Data, Music, VCD and picture disks..
If the Roxio you have won't let you,. you mud\st have a "crippled" copy,. a feeby that entices you to buy more.
My Advice?
Ditch Roxio... if you HAVE to buy CD burning software,. buy Nero.

YUP! The Roxio you got with your Dell is the castrated version. If you don't want to pay for the upgrade do a Google search. There's a lot of free ware that'll do the job. I personally like and use Nero.

If you're running Windows XP, Windows Explorer will burn your files to a CD. You don't need any other software, just use copy and paste. Then select burn files to CD and thats all!
I have Roxio and Nero and find Windows Explorer is just as fast and quicker to access.
