Your picture shows a great deal of creativity. Having the sun's disk directly in the scene poses some real handicaps, but your shot made a good picture out of it, nonetheless. Be advised that even when the sun's disk is NOT in the scene, it may still cause direct rays to hit the outer surface of the lens and can thereby cause serious flare on the lens, thus causing a loss of contrast or a veiling fog over the entire scene.
