First time posting here in the sports section, went to catch up with a friend last weekend at the NZ show jumping champs, just amazing watching some of them on their horses, in these pics they were jumping 1.4-1.6 metres, c and c most welcome, first time taking pics of show jumping, i manly do macro but am branching out in other areas, hope you all like:) taken with the 20d and the 100-400 lens

Love them,

I think you have captured them perfectly, especially the facial expressions - good colours and sharp as you like.

Great shots, just a shame you don't have a faster lens to blur the background then they would be top notch. Rugby now your talking:)

Lovely! #1 and 4 are cracking.

One word of advice....backgrounds. 1 and 4 are so good as the background is uncluttered, whereas in 2 and 3 you have cars and background distractions that take the eye away from the subject.

Great work though!

Thanks for the comments, it was hard to find the right place, just about any where i went the back ground had distractions, it was ok for getting close ups , the only thing i can think of is to get a higher and shoot downwards or get down to ground level and shot up

Thanks for your comments, just had it one shot mode and pan the camera and auto focus when i toook a photo

Nice work...great pictures, I echo what everyone else said really....A1 servo is fab for horse racing/jumping...give it a go....

Very lovely and well executed shots, I like them... stupid cars in the background though. I hate it when that happens.
