Hi All
After a barren winter, the annual 2 day trial kicks off the local motor sport season propper!
Here's a couple of pics from yesterdays session. Trials are amazing, the skill needed to navigate these sections is very impressive.

Hi F1 Nut.
Cheers, here are a couple more from the day.
There are a few more on my site www.mbpixel.com
The 70-200 and 50mm cover anything I do locally. I bought the 50mm because the 2.8 wasn't quite fast enough for some indoor velodrome stuff I was doing, otherwise I may have just stuck with the 70-200.
The less lens, the easier the choice :)

Hi Widowmaker,
Shot details for the first two were 1/500 (TV) f7.1 exposure compensation -2/3 (sunny day) @160mm
Second shots 1/800 (TV) f2.8 exposure compensation +1/3 (cloudy)
The impressive bit for me was the fearless way he tackled the rock sections, a tumble here would hurt!!
This is the first time I have shot trials, I think it is a good subject, a good mix of colours, backgrounds and skill.
Just watched the WSB, and they said James Toseland came from a trials background. I think if you are good at trials, you will be good at lots of motor sport.

Hi Mate
I like the first of yours, great concentration on the face. Not many motorsports give the chance to get the riders expressions in, which is another bonus.
Yes I like this forum. I'm not sure how long it has been around but is very good.

Did trials myself many years ago. I was useless and spent most of my time eating dirt :)
Nice pics tho

there are some of my own here http://pwmotorsports.fotopic.net/c1194114.html I find very often with trials I need to use a shorter lens if I tried to use the 70-200 most of the time i wouldnt be able to get the rider and bike in the shot but that may be somthing to do with the local courses being a bit tight on space.
Sure was some nice scenery in yours

Hi Mike,
Cheers for the comments, I'll certainly keep posting shots.
Varanus, cheers for sharing your shots, I like image 2111, clear air over that rock looks good.
I had one or two problems with the lens, none of the shots I took are cropped, and I lost one or two due to bits out of the shot. I put my 50mm on later in the day, but I preferred the 70-200 on the rocks.
The guy from our local paper had a short zoom on one camera and a 70-200 on the other, good idea, but sods law if I tried it, i'd slip on the rocks and smash all my gear
