Is this something new?

I just quoted a post that contained some smilies and I had some smilies in my reply. When I tried to submit the reply, I got the following message.

"You have included 10 images in your message. You are limited to using 8 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Images include use of smilies, the vB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator."

Is this something new?

The eight-image-per-post rule was implemented when the forum software was updated a few months ago.

Ahhhhhh! Ok, thanks Lonnie! I knew that the 8 photo per post was a forum rule so I was careful never to cross it, but I didn't know that they had found a way to eliminate it through the software.

Yeah the forum software unfortunately do not distinguish between a photo and a smilie so smilies count as one image.

People who don't smile will have the advantage. I would going to mention one nationality of serious people but thought that wouldn't go down well.
