Congratulations to the photog's that made it this far. You are one step closer to having your image printed in the First P.O.T.N Coffee Table Book!

In this Poll you will find the finalist for the Macro Share. Please review the images before voting. I would like to suggest that you make a list of the ones that you like best before voting. Once you have choosen your favorites narrow those down to five (5) images. Then place your votes. You may NOT vote for your own images. If you do so, all of your votes will be removed.

Voters must be members that joined prior to November 1, 2006. Please vote for ONLY 5 images. Each member can vote for 5 images. If you vote for more than five images, the images you voted for will not receive your vote in the end calculations. We set this number to be fair to all participating members.

Do not vote for your own images. If you vote for your own images all your votes will be disqualified

Do not encourage other members to vote for your photo(s) in any way. Doing so will disqualify your photo(s).

How come I can't see the voters?

It does hide the voters, but if you then click on the linked number of votes, it reveals them again

I noticed that some voters became members after November 1st, 2006.
Looks like their votes will not count, am I correct?
If so, will the new corrected scores be posted for us to see?

Well, that screws me totally, cos all but 4 of my votes were from people who joined post 1st November 2006 - that's 77% of the people that voted for my image joined after that date...I might not as well have bothered entering...

Cheer up Dave, only one of my images is getting any votes and that is not doing that well (poor choice I think). I haven't checked to see if any are void votes.

It's the taking part that counts (keep repeating to self).

You still have a chance. The PM panels for each share will also get to choose photos. So just because a photo did not get enough votes here does not mean it is completely out.

Well, join my club Olga - probably 70% of my votes are from those who joined after the 1st November (and without revealing my image, I got a fair decent number of votes)...several of them joining between the 2nd and 5th from what I've seen after a quick browse...I still thank those people for the votes, it's nice. I'm kicking myself, cos I probably didn't enter my two best images - and I'm sure many others have made the same error! Oh well, there's always the next book.

As Tommy says though, the panel can also vote on images to include in the book, so my fingers are crossed, but not necessarily hopeful with so many excellent images. It's a pity they call couldn't have been included :(

I have to say that out of all of the sections, macro (and birds and people) were the most difficult sections to select your favourite images from.

LOL I wish I could...Flickr is blocked here as well and my personal site. Odds are there are more than one praying mantis shots in the mix... I think I submitted 2 of them. LOL it has been awhile. One should be on an all black background.

If you can't find it... no worries... I will wait to see who makes the cut.

Yes because it was not possible to synchronize the time on all the polls so in about 15 minutes I will close all polls manually.

So when should we expect final results and what kind of timeline for ordering the books?

We hope to be able to declare shots selected for publication early in APril and expect to have books ready to order towards end of May.

What Mike said. It's also worth bearing in mind that the final votes will be different to those showing in the Poll once we have eliminated the significant minority of disallowed votes (mainly people who missed the cut off date for joining POTN who still voted).
