I just want to get a feel for what everyones preference of online eGallery and e-commmerce solutions of choice are. I'm familure with SmugMug and EE but if you use anything else let me know. I want to look at everything before I make my decision.

try this on for size:

Picture Proofs (http://www.pictureproofs.com) for your e-commerce.

Just 5% of gross sales and nothing more. You could also integrate it into your own site!

Check it out

Just so I understand, since I'm a bit confused after visiting their site, they handle the money and send me and the client an invoice I then take the invoice to my own printer (locally or somewhere else on line) to get the actual prints made is that correct?

I think it is as you said, but let me clarify just in case.

The do a few things for you:

1. host your pictures for proofing (instead of having yourself print a proofing book or whatnot)
2. they conduct all of the online transactions for you. after any sales, they will send you the money and the list of photos your client wants printed.

Afterwards, choose your own print lab and have them processed. You'll have the freedom to choose your own lab whether for quality or cost per print.

I hope that helps. It's rather simple really. I have the same images uploaded to winkflash or shutterfly and whenever I receive an order, I have the pictures ordered and sent straight to their residences; unless it is the actual wedding couple, then I'll have it packaged a little better (like in an album) and deliver it in person.
