The camber on those front wheels is ridiculous. Now I'm no pro at this, but I like your shots. The last really appeals to me.

I was just going to say the same, the negative camber in the front wheels on those cars is crazy.
Nice timing capturing the flames as well.

i love #1 and #3
one and two could use a slightly lower shutter speed to get some wheel blur, but they still look really good, great colours and the exhaust flames in #1&2 are great

Really nice shots!
Although I'm not sure about the 'red' colouring on Lowndes' car! Blue would be more appropriate...
Can't wait for the V8 Supercar season to start in Adelaide.
I live 5mins from Winton Raceway and there has been a lot of practice here over the last few days. Pity I'm at work and can get over there...

Thanks for the comments Echo63. I am still cautious about lowering my shutter speed when panning. I don't want to spoil a good shot because of camera shake. No IS lenses yet!

Thanks for the comments 350Dave. No I don't have accreditiation, I'm just a mug punter trying to get some shots. Can you get me accreditiation!!! Yes I hope to get out there on Friday. Do you know which teams will be attending?

I'm not sure whether "allowed" is the correct word but because of the small number of people, the teams seem to tolerate spectators along the pit wall. I'm always careful to watch for traffic, the usual safety stuff & not get too close to the team pit bays.

Unfortunately there is only one :( Holden team based in SE Qld (Sirromet - Paul Morris Motorsport) now that TKR have switched to Ford & moved to Melbourne. Hopefully I will get some shots of PMM later today at Willowbank.

Hi Rossco! While I'm not a pro, I've taken more photos of cars than any other subject. Don't be afraid to lower the shutter speed - even as low as 1/80 or 1/100 will catch plenty of movement while still capturing a vast majority of crystal clear images.
In my 'digital era' I have only used the 350D with standard lens (though I am itching to sample my 70-200 f/2.8L for racing purposes) and have never had a problem with shake.
Moving right along, are you heading out next Tuesday? I'm coming up from Sydney for the test - the 'official' reason is Easter but who am I kidding?... ;)

Hi Daniel, Thanks for the comments & the heads up about the test next Tuesday (after Easter). I have just picked up a new 100-400L IS canon lens this afternoon, so I'm looking forward to trying it out!
