I took this about two weeks ago, but haven't gotten around to processing it until recently because of work. I tried HDR, but it didn't work out too well. Enjoy!

Very nice, I love the vibrant colors. Good job. By the way...what is HDR?

It stands for High Dynamic Range.

Here is a link that is a good read about it: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/hdr.shtml

Thanks for the comments!

Nice pic, I suspect that this looks better than any HDR conversion. It has a Velvia feel to it. I'm not digging the border too much though, a bit too bold for the pic.

beautiful pic of a beautiful city. I agree with BB tho, the border is a bit distracting. the extra black/white border seems to make it too busy.

Nick- I may find myself with about 8 or so hours to kill in the evening this Saturday in Philly. Where'd you shoot from for this? Any places you'd suggest I go for good shots? Dont know the city that well, but am not afraid to learn. Thanks

I can answer.

This shot was taken from the bridge adjacent to the Art Museum. Once you get to the Art Museum, you cant miss it.

Another good view of the skyline is from the South Street Bridge, just off the South St exit of I76.

Yes, that's exactly right. If you do go to that spot, you probably will get quite a few people honking at you (as I normally do when I'm there). It's definitely a nice spot. What I'm still trying to look for is the skyline to reflect on the Skulkill river. I haven't had that luck yet (I haven't been in the city since I shot this, which was in early Feb.).

Here's the very same location, just at night.

I haven't been to the South Street Bridge yet. I've been meaning to check it out, but I just haven't had time lately with work. StopSweatinMe, have you been there to shoot the skyline from there?

How safe is that area at night? Obviously, I'll pay attention to whats going on, just curious if it was a particularly bad area

I've been there, but havent shot there with a tripod yet.

I kinda got the skyline in the reflection from the other bridge.

I wouldnt go alone, but it's not a bad area. The gaurdrail is really low, and you will want to know what's behind you.

^ Good response. I was wondering the same thing. I'm always weary about even going around the Art Musuem with my equipment.
