With my 20D I use the * button to focus and that is the FEL button as well. I don't want to go back and use the shutter half press to focus. So is there another way to FEL besides the * button?
Thanks,
Mike

check your manual in the Custom Functions

In the 20D, once you assign * to Focus, you lose FEL capability

It's that way on the 30D as well. I wish there was a fast way to toggle the focus from shutter button to * without going into Custom Functions.

CF4 is used to set the * button to focus instead of FEL and that's about the extent of the custom functions regarding the choices of the * button as far as I can tell.

Unless you know something about the Custom Functions that you're not offering

Thanks, that's what I figured but thought there may be a workaround somewhere. The 1D series has a seperate FEL button .. which is a nice thing to have.
Thanks,
Mike

There are certain advantages to paying $8k for a camera body, I'd hope! ;)
