I spent a few days visiting my wifes parents in Belfast last week. I had a drive down to Belfast docks to have a look at the old drydocks and shipyards that were used to build the Titantic. A lot of people have heard of the two big Harland and Wolfe cranes that dominate the skyline around Belfast docks, but there are three small cranes that were used during the construction of the Titantic that are sitting quietly rusting away on the side of the dock. These were used to lift some of the smaller steel plates into position during the construction of Titantic. They are earmarked for restoration, and I personally hope that this happens. In the meantime, they sit slowly rusting away......

(the other two cranes are surrounded by fencing hence making getting a clean shot impossible).
Round the corner from here, one of the huge Stena HSS ferries was in being re-fitted in the Harland and Wolfe repair yard. Lighting was poor, and I was shooting into the sun, so excuse the blown highlights in the sky. I've been on that boat when the seas have been rough enough to hit those front windows....
