View Full Version : Hmmmmmmmm 1DMkII shipping soon?

I check my credit cards online weekly. Try to head off any problems. When I pre-ordered my 1DMkII over a month ago, Adorama put a temporary authorization on my card.......not unusual. They just did another one for the amount of the 1DMkII on Friday the 19th. Will it ship soon? The second authorization is just prior to shippment, when they actually charge the card................ Time will tell :D Adorama said they will email tracking number when shipped. Hmmmmmm waiting on that email.

End of April for shipment world-wide is the latest from Canon.

Someone that has one on order from B&H got their card charged too. They sometimes do that when the product will ship in 30 days, which would make the late April timing just about right. Just like Canon has always said.

My card has not been charged. I have mine on order with CDW. And I don't think they charge until they ship.

adamant about not knowing any dates.

In fact the guy I spoke to was quite an a-hole. I couldn't ask the simplest of questions about the product and it's availability with out being treated like I had asked the same question 5 times before. Whom ever I spoke to was the rudest person I've ever spoken with. I ended up placing my order with another company.

The guy I spoke to he had no idea when the cameras were coming in. I'd be shocked if it were in this month and find it unlikely that it would be in before the 15th of April.

I spoke with Adorama 2 Days ago and they were adamant about not knowing any dates.

I got my information from a very polite and helpful woman in the customer service department. Granted they can tell me anything at all. They can make it up as they go. I do know two things. (1)The 1DMkII will ship sometime. (2) I have had one on pre-order for well over a month with Adorama, so I am kinda married to them. They are a camera retailer so at some point they will sell some cameras.

I hope everyone is taking this they way I intended it, it is just fun. It is meant in the same vain as fun gossip. There is a thread of truth to some of the info but everyone is embellishing it. It is like our version of the National Enquirer or the Weekly World News.

I am not a pro and my livelyhood does not depend on the 1DMkII. I am just excited about the prospect of using this camera. Sometimes the anticipation is just as exciting as the procurement of an item.

Really! I was told this by Elvis last night in the Mothership after being abducted by Aliens!
