I am about to purchase my first cleaning supplies. I want ONLY top, top quality products. I am wondering what lens tissues & cleaning solution I should buy. Also any other recommended products for cleaning my two (expensive as f***) lenses :D
I also use Hoya SHMC Pro1 UV filters when needed and I have heard these are a biatch to clean. What can I use for them?

Definitely going to pick up a rocket blower! I am more interested in knowing which cleaning solution and lens tissue are of high enough quality for my expensive glass.

You can try checking out the cleaning kit at www.copperhillimages.com. I just got my kit from them last week and i think it works great.

I got a Giottos kit that has some lens cleaner, brush, and microfiber. Worked great this weekend getting the sea air off the glass.

I use lens tissues and Residual Oil Remover for stubborn spots on my lenses. For general wipe down, I use a blower and a microfiber cloth.

Ahh the residual oil remover is what I am really after I think. Thanks Mark!

I would suggest Formula MC cleaning fluid. Never leaves a film, even on "tough to clean" Hoya filters. It's made for multicoated optics ("MC") and has been around for decades.
As for cleaning tissue, stick with that. I don't like microfiber for optics. With tissues you always have a fresh, clean sheet to clean with - unlike the microfiber which traps dirt and grit in the nap of the fiber and is used over and over. They're great for quick touch-ups I guess.
A lens pen... Not for the cleaning end. But for the retractable brush. :)
A Giottos (Rocket) blower is a great choice. Well built, cheap, powerful. I don't have the Rocket, but it is a Giottos. I wanted to keep the size down and portable.
Don't forget the Q-tips for cleaning the viewfinder window...

don't forget the lens pen, great for when you accidently touch the filter.........you know, when your putting the lens cap back on and the hoods in the way.
