Just looked on Jessops to find that the 1D mark II N and 1DS mark II are all out of stock

the 1D mark IIN had this offer

Canon EOS-1D Mark II N Digital SLR (Body Only) + FREE Canon Speedlite 580EX Flashgun. (http://www.jessops.com/Store/s30764/0/Digital-SLRs/Canon/EOS-1D-Mark-II-N-Digital-SLR-%28Body-Only%29-%2b-FREE-Canon-Speedlite-580EX-Flashgun/details.aspx?&IsSearch=y&pageindex=3&CatId=481&comp=y)

Flogging the flashgun to probably shift remaining bodies.

I cant see what they can do to really better the flash gun 580. Its the bodies that need the ability to throw out wireless commands which could be the case since I think I heard the STE2 is been discontiued. (rumor)

I work for Jessops. The free flash gun offer has been available in stores for over two months, and is actually something Jessops are constructing at their warehouse as opposed to Canon supply. As a company, despite having towards 400 stores, there are only ever usually something like 40-50 1DS MkII's and similar 1D's throughout the network and that figure is being optimistic generally. Supply of such items has always been sporadic and as such it's no suprise they're out of stock. (Especially seeing as nameless other retailers bleed their stock dry before customers see it.)

Last I looked (Fri last week) none of the mooted new cameras were listed on their system.

Are you saying the 1DMkIII would be $3,000 USD? That really doesn't sound right, as £2500 converts to about $4880 US if my conversion is correct... I'd absolutely love to see it for $3,000, but I'm doubting that...

Equipment in Europe is always more expensive, so simple conversion won't work. $3000 would be nice, we'll see; I'm thinking more like $3500.

ahh yes, true... I always keep forgetting that since I never have any dealings outside of the country.

that's a relief as well, as I really don't want to spend over $4,000 for a camera that I *want* much much more than I actually *need*
$3500 or less would be fantastic
