vivitar 215 with 30d?

As the topic states i have one of these, and i was seeing if i could mess around with it using a 30d. Im assuming if i could i could NOT hook it on the top hotshoe, but use the cord with it...the flash is really for a mamiya c220. Thanks for any info. Jeremy

According to this web page (http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html), the trigger voltage is pretty high, based on one report. Similar units exceed 250v.

I think if it were mine, I would stick a slave adapter on it and not connect it directly to the camera.

You could measure the trigger voltage yourself and make sure it's under 250.
