Anyone ever try this?
It would only cost $1.50-ish to put an add up.
I think i'm gonna try it no matter, but i'm wondering if anyone has done it and what their experiences were.

No, not exactly. you don't pay anything, but if the picture sells then they take 30-50% comissions.

I figured i should just try it and see what happens.
Far from a great shot, but it may spark someones intrest.
Only cost me $.35 to post the add....so, we'll see what happens.

That is a good shot. If it gets a bid or 2 I might try it.

Tim,
May I suggest a smaller image? A copy of the one you posted still may not be a very large photo to print but it is an easy one to steal. If you must have such a large image displayed maybe watermark it in a few places instead of red text. Something like this.

I hope you don't mind me saying so.

Timmy, move the red lettering at least so you can see the moving second hand. I believe there is a moving second hand there, isn't there?
With your placement of that lettering, you have taken away the focus of the shot.

Just be quick, Tim... I think you can only change the picture up until someone bids.

Good luck with your image selling. This has actually been in the back of my mind for a while. I'm very interested to see what kind of results you get. Just curious under what category are you selling this, I was never sure where to put them to get the most exposure and views. Keep us posted.

The only one that seems to have fit was 1940-now...i'm sure there are more, and it'll have to be a trial and error thing. At $.35 a pop i'm willing to do just that.
And bruce, the picture is linked to my website, as such i'm able to change it as often as i'd like ;-)

Well for that cheap you might as well try, heck I might even give it a go in another category and we could compare results. I'll post again whenever I get around to listing a few pics. Thanks for bringing about the idea.

Well no luck. But a friend brought up something i didnt even think of.
I simply chose the first cool picture i could find. But people dont just buy cool pictures. They buy pictures they'd hang in their living room...or whatever. Why would anyone spend money ona picture of a watch?

Timm, Timmy, Timmy
Why would anyone spend money on a picture of a watch?
Let's see now, sombody who would want that picture, hmmmmm? How about someone who's father/grandfather/uncle/brother worked on or collected watches? Maybe someone who was decorating a den in an old fashion Sherlock Holmes motief. (Is that how you spell it? Doh!)
Someone who sold watches at those exposition center type consumer products shows.
Don't give up. List it in different catagories, Watches, Antiques, maybe something in decoration art.

Another idea is to actually put this listing in whatever catagory a real watch would be in on ebay. IMHO, this is where somebody that would be more likely to buy it would be looking in the first place. I would put it in those two catagories then, and just make sure it's clearly posted as a photo on the auction it's self. Good luck.

You might want to consider a more interesting image to sell next time.
