I see on a lot of your pics a mark like that of a watermark. Where are you adding this and do you create some kind of template?

A very quick way is to use photoshop and holding down the alt key, type 0169 and then your name. This will give you the copyright symbol plus your name. Reduce the opacity in the layers pallette to suit your tastes.

Note - you must use the number keys on the right of your keyboard, not those on top of the letters

This has to be one of the most asked questions here, particularly lately. As noted above if you search here you will find a plethora of responses on this. If you make friends with Mr. Google he will help alot as well.

I do it one of two ways. I have a logo file that I have saved. I open that and then copy that to a new layer in the image. Reduce opacity and free transform to the size I like. Save it and I am done. The other way is if I have lots of images to do. This is normally when I am putting watermarks on proof files for the customer to review.

I use Breezebrowser Pro which has a function called proofing. In this function you can do a number of things, one of which is watermarking. You can put two watermarks in the image and I will put one in the middle on text showing the copyright symbol and my name. This is done in an opacity low enough that it does not take away from the ability of the customer to review the image. The other is that you can take a graphic file and put in anywhere in the image. I have my logo saved as a PNG file and scaled to meet the proportionate size of the final image. This I normally put in the lower right hand corner. Breezebrowser will batch run this routine and even though I may have rather large TIFF or PSD files, it will resize, compress and put the watermark on and save to a new location all while I walk away and do something else.

If only putting one in a corner of your image, it works fine for identifying you are the copyright holder but in reality it is easily cropped off. That is why I tend to put one in the middle of the image. I have found over time that you just can't trust people. I would rather put the watermark in the middle rather than see the customer taking copies and printing their own.

The sample below has been resampled again to fit on here but you can see the watermarks. Doing this allows me to put larger files on my site for the customer to view. It is possible for anyone to take the time and effort to clone out these. If they want to go to that length to get a half decent 4X6 then there is little I can do to stop them.
