I just downloaded and tried a noise reduction program called Neat Image. Are there any negatives ramification to using noise reduction.

If you overdo it it can end up removing detail. However, the Drebel is not a noisy camera so you shouldn't run into that problem. And, Neat Image is great software.

Neat Image's demo works very well. I have the pro version and use it and am happy with it. Aside from the fact that it is very slow.

As I'm sure you have seen, when you use the noise reduction, it can soften an image. This really isn't much of a problem for prints because you can sharpen again, sometimes to almost ridiculous degrees, and the print will look spectacular whereas on the monitor, it looks like freeze dried roasted hell on a stick.
I use Neat Image when necessary and it gives very nice results. Noise Ninja is another you might want to consider.
