Concerning new lens release.
What do you think will be most likely to happen on PMA?

Nothing personal, but this should be in the rumors section
But I am still hoping for the improved 100-400L with third gen IS.

Yea, but before this thread gets moved,
I think we'll most likely see the 24-70L 2.8 IS. The 24-70 has been around for a while, and it doesn't need an upgrade, but it does need an edge. Lenses like the Tamron 2.8 and canon 17-55 are nearly identical to it on a crop body. Giving it IS and a small optic boost seems like a plausible idea.

Updated 100-400 would be sweet!
I think adding IS to the already large and kind of heavy 24-70 f/2.8L would be nice, but I also think it would make it larger and heavier. Large and heavy isn't bad for a telephoto lens, but the 24-70 is just a normal zoom... I think increasing the weight and size (and price) would be a turn off for a lot of folks.

Maybe you are right - but I am not trying to find rumors - but I am trying to find out what YOU think is going to happen?

ie: a "prediction" :)
Why are lenses that exist on the list,. is this suggesting updates to them, like the 600mm ?
I've got no predictions, but would like to see an updated 100-400mm and an IS version of the 400mm f/5.6..
But (broken record time) an updated 100-400mm would still be the f/5.6 zoom, not an F/4.
I want an easily hand help zoom. Not a fire hydrant :)

Oh, thatīs my fault - did mean a cheaper version - EF 600 f/5.6 IS USM, sorry.. I was a little too hasty -

Ahh, interesting idea,.
A 600mmL that weighs in about the same as the very hand holdable 300mm f/2.8 :)
I edited the Poll for you to f/5.6

If they ever....ever made these two lenses, I'd sell every lens I own.
EF 10-20 f/2.8L
EF 24-70 f/2.8 IS

I'd love a 10-1500mm f1.0 L that's around the size and weight of the 70-200 2.8. I guess the first one wouldn't have IS, but that could always come out next year ;)

What is most likely and what I want are two different things. :)

I do not see any of those being released, don't know why, but nothing seems realistic in size or for Canon's money making strategy

Yeah, a new crop of swell EF-S lenses is more likely...

I would guess a new 16-35 2.8 II will be released soon.

Yes, a very much needed lense indeed. And I wouldn't complain if the long end is a bit closer to 200mm either.

I predicted a 16-35 II with better peripheral IQ in UWA shooting a few months ago. Honest.
