Hey all,
I'm getting married in 2 months or so, and couldn't think of a better place to look for a photographer than the site I spend all my free time on
Anyway, I'm looking for someone in Flagstaff/Phoenix (Wedding in Flag, Recep in Phx). It's going to be a morning-outdoor-small/private ceremony. If any of ya'll know anyone/would be interested, shoot me a PM for all the details ;)
Speaking of which, what is everyones opinion on reception photography?
We've bought 2 disposables for every table, and I'm sure a few will wander around with decent digitals, etc. How are the reception shots usually received? Do people like them? Should I stick with just ceremony shots?
Ah, last but not least, here's the view from where we'll be doing this,

Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding!! :D
You have chosen a very nice location! Unfortunately, I'm not in your area :(
For reception coverage, it really is up to what you want. If money is an issue and you don't want any of these shots in an album and are just looking for souvenirs, then disposable cameras and photos from relatives will give you just that. Don't forget that receptions are usually dimly lit and that a lot of the pictures will have on-board flash, etc.
We wanted our photographer to cover our reception as well because we spent a lot of time organizing it (my wife more than me ). We wanted to have good memories of the events unfolding during the evening, so we opted for the extra coverage. We certainly don't regret it!

I will travel as well! It's so flat down here, I'd love to be able to shoot with a gorgeous background like that!

Congrats on your upcoming marriage
Here is my take on those little disposable cameras...DON"T DO IT..
Here is what you will get...
shots of noses, feet, floor, lights, backs of people, a chair..and maybe even a few from the bathroom that no one will want to see. :-)
I tried it myself and allowed 5 friends to use them. We got 4 back. and out of the 24 each shots they were to get, I spent on the cameras 3.94, to develop each one was around 5.00. I got ahhh about 10 pics I could really use. Seriously...It is a total waste of time, unless you want to experiment like I did.
I also had a pro there...and he did alot of the nice shots and I am glad we had him.
so..it is up to you...what shots do you want? what do you want to remember and who?
I would LOVE to do your wedding..but I am in wet, snowy, cold but warming Ohio.
Let us know how it goes

just WALK AWAY from those disposables.....
its such a huge waste of money. i got pictures of kids. pictures of kids eating. pictures of food. pictures of dishes of food. pictures of backs of heads.
at a somewhat costly price of developing them as well.
