Hello:
After upgrading to 2.0 I put my guestbook back on line to see what would happen. For three months I was spam free and then it happened. I would like to keep it up but don't want to deal with these idiot spammers so I was wondering if anybody has a CAPTCHA solution implemented in their guestbook.
Thanks.
Cal

what guestbook? the one in eE? what are your setting for it? i have mine set to require approval before their comments will be shown... i check my guestbook "once in a while" to approve the good ones and delete the unwanted ones... i've not had any spams in all the time i've been running eE starting back in the v1.2x days ;)

I believe you are talking about "Comments and Ratings" which can be set for owner approval. I do not believe guestbook comments can be moderated. If they can I don't know where that check box might be. If guestbook comments cannot be moderated that might be a nice thing to add in future releases of EE.

There is a difference between the "Guestbook" (does not require owner approval, and thus is PRONE TO SPAMMING) and the "Viewer comments" (accessible through the header of a native EE installation; requires approval). My Guestbook has hundreds of messages which would need to be individually deleted in the admin interface.
Pekka, how can I disable the Guestbook?
